Digital Dots business is based on journalism, consulting, presentations and seminars, and bespoke publishing projects such as the Technology Guide series. Companies can work with Digital Dots in a variety of ways, as subscribers to Spindrift, as a publishing partner or associate, or as a client.

There are three levels of Premier Client Services depending on how much service a given client wants to get from Digital Dots. All three levels include multiple subscriptions to Spindrift, proprietary client directed research, consulting services (report writing, presentations, seminars, etc) and printed copies of the Technology Guide titles for distribution to clients, prospects.

Although it is an independent entity Digital Dots functions as a collaboration between independent consultants. Consultants in the group manage their own projects and work together for specific projects, such as research studies and proprietary market research. Digital Dots is the only organisation of its kind in that it focuses exclusively on digital technologies with expertise in prepress and digital print technologies, as well as information technologies.
